Story Summit Virtuous Circle
At Story Summit, we aspire to the ideal of the Virtuous Circle. Certain writing requires “digging deep,” and we must be able to do that safely, inside our community, whether in a class or small group.
The Virtuous Circle is about goodness perpetuating itself. In the circle, a good thing happens, which prompts and activates another good thing to occur. This positive momentum returns, generating energy so the first good thing continues to transpire.
The Virtuous Circle is in direct contrast to the "Vicious Circle," which propagates unfavourable outcomes.
When one is shown kindness and generosity, it makes all the difference. When one is lifted up, we are all lifted up because we agree to loving and respecting one another. We request that people sign the pledge of the Virtuous Circle for small group workshops and certain classes that require privacy.
When we add our signatures to that circle, it means we are accountable to one another and ourselves. Outside the circle, we do not gossip or share each other's writing. We treat our fellow writers with love and respect, honour and confidentiality.
